How to Integrate Other Sites with Flodesk | Zapier Overview

Today's question is how do I connect Flodesk to other sites? This is a common question that I get, because on the back end of Flodesk it only integrates with a few websites. However, you can use a magical website that will allow Flodesk to talk to other platforms. And the name of that application is Zapier. By creating Zaps in Zapier, you can connect Flodesk to tons of other websites. And in this post, I'm going to show you how I use it in my business to automate some processes. Without further ado, let's hop in.

Connect to your apps and automate workflows. Easy automation for busy people. Zapier moves info between your web apps automatically so you can focus on your most important work. This will allow Fodesk to talk to other websites. If you want to get started with Zapier for free, sign up with Google, Facebook, Microsoft or create an account from scratch. Once you've created your account, I want you to go over to why Zapier and click on how Zapier works. This page provides a really good breakdown of how this application will help you to incorporate automation into your business. So scroll down and it shows you how Zapier helps you automate. When websites talk to each other automatically, it's called an integration. If you're on a platform and you need to connect a couple of websites and you don't see it listed under integrations, there may be a workflow in Zapier that can be a workaround. So essentially, all Zapier is doing is serving as an in between. When something happens in one platform, the information comes into Zapier and it causes another thing to happen on a separate website. So say for instance, when someone registers for my event, what I want Zapier to do is follow up in a week with next steps, then send them a welcome email. This will help you to enjoy more free time. Spend time on what matters and let Zapier do the rest. The best part about Zapier is you don't have to understand coding to make this happen. You simply choose a trigger from a list, then choose the action and turn your Zap on.

When you log into Zapier, you can see I have paid for the starter plan, which is 750 tasks. So let's quickly go back to Zapier and let's talk about the pricing. So like I said, I have the starter package. So that gives me 750 tasks per month. It allows me to create filters, to have premium apps connected and to have multiple step Zaps. This is the biggest reason why I pay for Zapier versus using the free one. You can use the free one but if you want multiple steps in your automation, you're going to have to upgrade. It also limits the amount of tasks that can be completed in a month for free. You only get 100 tasks if you have a free account. However for a lot of you getting started that is more than enough. So feel free to start with a free account and then upgrade as needed.

If we go into the back end of my Zapier account, you will see “Connect to this app…With this one”. So say for instance, and I'm searching for Flodesk once you select Flodesk it's going to show you 15 of the most popular Flodesk Zaps, which essentially are workflows that other folks have needed to build within the back end of Zapier. You can add Facebook leads to Flodesk using Zapier. You can add orders from WooCommerce to Flodesk automatically. If you keep clicking, you'll see some more appear. Add subscribers to Flodesk from new Google Sheets spreadsheet rows. This is essentially the Squarespace Zap. For so many things on Squarespace you can have information put into a Google spreadsheet as a storage option. So you can connect your Google spreadsheet to Flodesk with Zapier. And again, there are more if you click through, or if you want to see if it integrates with the platform that you're trying to use. Say, for instance, you want to connect Flodesk to Acuity you could click there and it would show you a zap that is set up. Create subscribers in Flodesk from new appointments in Acuity. That could be a great thing for you to have automated in your business. If you are scheduling discovery calls with Acuity, but you also want them to be added to Flodesk and into a segment so that you can follow up with those leads even if they don't book right away. That's a fantastic thing for you to have turned on.

I'm going to head over to my Zaps and you're going to see some of the ones that I have set up. As you can see these happen instantly. When someone signs up for the Bootstrap Club as a fan, I have them automatically added into Flodesk as a Bootstrap Fan Member in that segment. So all of the data that comes from Memberspace automatically goes into my Flodesk account because of these Zaps. If someone purchases my IG reels masterclass through Pay Hip, those purchases automatically go into Fodesk. And so essentially what I'm trying to do is to make sure that anytime I do business with someone, they get added to my mailing list so I can continue to have contact with them.

So when you are ready to create a Zap, you can click on Create Zap or make a Zap then all you need to do is search the applications. They'll have some automatically show up but you can choose from over 2000 others. I'm gonna go back really quick and show you how many websites you can connect using this website. If you're curious to know if Zapier can connect some of the websites that you're trying to use in your business, go to zapier.com/explore or you can click at the top because this is going to give you a breakdown of the 2000+ applications that they support. So if you scroll down, you're going to see the list right here. And you can just type in the name here or you can scroll on the extensive list. And I will tell you they have so many that they offer integrations for that more than likely if you are using a popular web application there is a Zap for it. So again, as Flodesk is in beta and they are adding on more integrations. If you want to connect Flodesk to a platform you're already using in your business to help you to grow your email list and to continue to build a relationship with your website visitors and your customers, I would recommend creating a free Zapier account. If you want multiple steps to occur, just upgrade your account like I did. And for me and my business right now, the starter level is plenty.
