How to Print From Canva (Print Cost + Full Breakdown)
Ever designed something for print in Canva?
I’m sure you have. After all, Canva makes it super easy to create designs for everything from business cards to tote bags and T-shirts.
But did you know that you can have them shipped straight to your door with just a few clicks? That’s the beauty of Canva Print!
The question is: Is Canva Print actually worth the money?
Or would you be better off going with something like Vistaprint instead?
I’ve designed hundreds of assets in Canva and recently tested out their print services firsthand on a few different products, and I want to share exactly what you can expect when you order print products through Canva.
I’ll also compare my experience with other print service platforms, like Moo and Vistaprint.
So, if you’ve been wondering how to print a Canva design, it’s actually way simpler than it seems! And I’ll help you decide when it’s worth using Canva Print… and when it’s not.
Here’s everything you should know, from its functionality to Canva’s print quality and cost.
What Can Canva Print?
You can design a ton of things in Canva but you can also pay Canva to print your designs when you're done. Some of the most popular things to print are tote bags, wearables like sweatshirts, hoodies, t-shirts, and marketing materials like brochures and business cards. If you click on templates, and then print products, you can browse through everything that is currently available. However, some designs can not be printed in certain countries. There is a page on Canva’s website called what we print and I highly recommend you check out this page before investing your time into designing. Not only does this page tell you generally what regions they service, it lists out the specifications as well. Now here's one important thing to take note of, you can always leverage a local printer for your Canva designs. You don't have to use Canva’s print services, but they do offer them as a convenience to you. I was actually shocked at the shipping speed for my recent order of business cards. They arrived in beautiful packaging, which was a lovely surprise in my mailbox and they even included some stickers which I loved.
Shipping Your Canva Products
However, keep in mind that some designs can't be printed in certain countries.
There’s a page on Canva’s website called Where Canva Print Ships, and I highly recommend checking it before you get too deep into your design.
It used to be very specific about exactly what size items and type of material it could ship to certain places. However, today it seems to be restricted only by region, not type of print!

Printing Canva Business Cards – My Review
When I recertified as a Canva Expert, I decided to have Canva create double-sided business cards for me.
I designed them to be double-sided and ordered 500 on premium paper with a matte finish.
I thought the quality of Canva’s printing was really good.
It handled the gradient on the front of my card beautifully, and the photo cutout on the back didn’t look pixelated at all.
My only complaint?
The cutout stopped a little higher than I would’ve liked. On web designs, I’m used to having my body go all the way to the bottom. With Canva print, you want to leave room so nothing important gets trimmed, and I’m more used to that seamless look, so it threw me off at first, but it’s totally fine now.
Pro Tip: Pay attention to font weight. Business cards are tiny, so using font hierarchy (instead of underlining or italics) helps guide the eye toward what matters. I plan to tweak this in my next round of business cards.
How much does Canva cost to print?
It depends on the item and the quantity you purchase. Canva almost always offers discounts when buying in bulk.
I paid $60 for 500 premium Canva double-sided business cards, which felt very reasonable to me.
I also used Canva Print to order a T-shirt with the Canva Expert logo for workshops, and it cost me $25.
However, I was extremely happy with the quality of the shirt and the print. Also, the clothing is almost always cheaper if you order in bulk. For example:
6 - 19 = $22.50 (10% off)
20 - 50 = $21.50 (14% off)
[Canva Vs Vistaprint]
How does Canva stack up to Vistaprint and other print options?
Honestly, Canva Print is so convenient if you’re already designing in Canva, and it ended up being the cheaper option for my double-sided business cards.
I’ve personally used Moo.com, Vistaprint, and now Canva for printing.
In my experience, Moo.com was significantly more expensive, and although Vistaprint appeared cheaper on the surface, once I decided to print on both sides of the card, it evened out (and removed the ability to use any promo codes or coupons).
Still, I would always check with a local printer to compare prices.
Online print services are great, but sometimes using a local printer can be the best option once you factor in the savings you’ll get on shipping costs.
Overall, I absolutely recommend Canva for print, especially for paper products and small runs of promotional products like t-shirts.
The prints are very high quality, worth the price, and the process is seamless for people already familiar with designing in Canva.
But make sure to keep shipping in mind and do a quick price check with a local printer — this might save you a little money or time.
